Delivery Notifications and Confirmations The most common voice use case in logistics is the pre-delivery and post-delivery notification call. Before a delivery attempt, an automated outbound call confirms that the recipient will be available. The call uses text-to-speech to read the expected delivery window and asks the recipient to press 1 to confirm, press 2 to reschedule, or press 3 to redirect to a collection point. The response updates the delivery management system immediately via webhook. When a delivery is successfully completed, an automated call can request confirmation from the recipient. When a delivery fails, an automated call explains the reason and offers resolution options. Each of these communications is triggered automatically by events in the logistics platform and executed by Vobiz without any human involvement. Machine detection is particularly valuable in logistics calling. Many recipients have their phones set to go to voicemail, especially during work hours. With machine detection enabled, Vobiz identifies when a call has reached voicemail and either drops the call (saving the cost of leaving an unanswered message) or plays a shorter voicemail-specific message. This significantly improves the efficiency of delivery notification campaigns.
